A tough one, the eagles are starting to hit their straps however we have a good record against them particularly at home. Our form under lights is good...we need to win and we should win.
A key to stoppping them will be nullifying Grocke, who in my opinion is the most underated player in the sanfl. We cant allow McKenzie to run about without an opponent picking up kicks either.
A big game, GO PANTHERS!

Pretty simple really...need to win this game.

With Westies every chance to beat the Bays (and with Sturt still to come), we cant afford to drop behind them.

What odds Parry being reported? Wink

SANFL WELCOMES GOOD FRIDAY FOOTY IN 2012

The SA Football Commission has endorsed Good Friday football for 2012, with South Adelaide set to host the match at Hickinbotham Oval on April 6.

SANFL General Manager – Football and Corporate Operations Darren Chandler said the game, to be played at night, would have a strong family focus and provide a platform to raise funds for charity.

“Good Friday football has proved very successful for State Leagues and community leagues in WA and Victoria over the past couple of years,” he said.

“A number of SANFL clubs have previously voiced their support for Good Friday games and South Adelaide in particular put forward a compelling case which received the backing of the Commission.”

“Our job is to support the clubs in their initiatives to connect with their local communities. At this stage, the Good Friday fixture will be held in 2012 and will certainly be reviewed for coming seasons.

“While we respect the religious views of the South Australian community, we believe this event will provide an opportunity for families to come together to enjoy a night of local footy, which will also be supporting a charitable cause

On route to Noarlunga now... Need this win. Put simple, if we can't beat them at home, we may as well not play finals. Need a much better effort this week, gotta get back to four quarters of competitive footy.
Go you Panthers!

One that got away Sad Although the Eagles would argue that had they kicked straight they would have won by more...

Only two goals after HT and only four goal kickers...not going to cut it really. 17-29 clearances hurt.

Rated the games of Stribling, Thewlis, Wundke and Brown.

There's every hope now. We live again against North next week. Win that and it might be enough.

Disappointed, we pushed pretty hard but our list just is not there yet.

To be blunt I am not keen to see South make the finals if its only to make up the numbers, yet getting the Bays in the first week would at least throw some fuel on the rivalry between us!

I think we could shake up the finals....we beat Glenelg and drew with them, 1 win over Eagles with 2 losses (one 6 points the other 15 ponts).

Finals are strange anything can happen on the day......Legs and Dogs though seem to have it in the bag though this year .

Other results have gone our way, we are still in the hunt ,our destiny is still in our own hands....

bring the same effort and intensity we showed v Eagles with a bit more polish and we will defeat North this week.

GO PANTHERS

Hurts to lose when we were in front until the last 5 mins. They had to work hard to smother us at the stoppages. There were some good performances against a confident outfit, Wundke Stribling Thewlis and our short light defence worked hard - Crabb is underated.
Big improvement on this point last year & Uncle Ron is looking at the big picture- we're not ready to talk finals yet. However if we take our best game to Prospect work hard around the midfield to create better delivery forward to Wundke & Ainger then ...

Our destiny is still in our own hands which is good for us! Sure if we manage to scrape into the finals we will be hard pressed to go far, but it would be great for the young lads to get a taste of finals football.
No one could fault our effort against the Eagles on friday night, but some of our delivery forward and ability to lock the ball in our forward fifty was not good enough. Sometimes its a game of centremetres, and the little things done right can be enough to get you over the line.
Young Tyson Browns work rate on friday night was fantastic, yes he is raw but with that sort of commitment and effort he looks like a player for the future.
Still one or two players well down on form and seemingly fitness, maybe a stint back in the twos in order.
lets go down to Prospect and stitch these blokes up!

Enjoyed the commitment of our lads, like we've seen often this season there was no hint of dropping their heads and the attack was relentless, just need to add some polish to our disposal and we're there. We CAN beat North with this type of total 4 quarter commitment, and if we beat them we WILL shake the final series, nothing harder to beat than a team who has nothing to lose and plays with reckless abandon. Great to see many Southies at the game and wearing the colours plus making plenty of noise, there is much to look forward to.
Well done to the ressies they have been improving all year just like all other aspects of the grand old club.
