I'm led to believe that there is plenty of $$$$$ to be had playing at Mannum. Not sure how Mannum will feel paying a clearance fee to South for his services, seeing that apparently he is still under contract....?

Yep, he has a year to go. Big question is, will we have Daniel BASS next year? I think that Keegan Brooksby is our genuine long term chance as a dominant ruckman but he will need support.

The only fly in the ointment might be if a WAFL club want him, he didnt get much of a go this season due to injury but played several matches last season and held his place pretty well, averaged 42 on the Supercoach stats! Would not be regarded as an import on our list.

Think Ron might be the man to get something more out of Jesse Aish, he has shown sparks of sheer talent before but struggles with consistancy, like Nathan Daniel he could do well as a project player if Ron thinks its worth looking at.

Heard a whisper today that Tom McNamara has signed with Panthers subject to not getting another AFL opportunity. Could be a couple of former Sacred Heart boys, who have also worn yellow and black that could be joining him.

Couple of rumours,

Denis Iljecsen has indicated that he wishes to return from the country to the club for 2012,

Xavier Watson who played for the Maggies last season and was in and out of the league and reserves side is rumoured to have his management talking to the SAFC about joining the club for 2012

Rumour has it that Jesse Aish ex Norwood may also be at South in 2012 after being delisted by Norwood.

Interesting, Ive always thought that the club should have made more of its reasonable proximity to the college. As many would be aware SHC is a football factory, probably only second in the country to Assumption College Kilmore In Vic for churning out AFL players year after year.Surely there are some fine young footballers in our zone who have attended the school and played 1st 18 or 2nd 18 who would become very solid SANFL footballers.

There is a countdown timer on the club website!
10 days it is...

Hope to see some new faces slogging it out on the track in a couple of weeks time!
I suppose we wont get too many announcements on new players to the club until maybe after the national draft and the pre season/ rookie draft.
Stating the obvious, we will need a good top up in depth and quality.
Hoping we get another swag of recruits like our last two seasons!

Yes agree this is interesting. I have heard on 2 separate occasions regarding 2 separate boys who attend the college that they live inside the South zone yet are in the Glenelg special squads. Now this could be mischievous rumour knowing I'm a South supporter but it does beg the question of who polices the zone and at what grades is it policed.
