Good news. Will have to try to find some info on these guys.

Also good to see that nobody was pinched in the preseason/rookie drafts. Although obviously disappointing for guys like Stribling who were half a chance of being picked up.

Really good signings there, particularly Houlihan and Casley ready made league players, Todd and Xavier have potential but need to step up for consistancy to play League but certainly have the ability and iám sure South will give them every opportunity to do so. Has Justin Bollinhagen signed?
Still no ruckman, man we need to recruit a big fella or two.

Bass is staying on, so that will help with the ruck area. Would be good to have a backup tho. We are light on in the big man area.

Great news to have big Daniel Bass re-sign, his improvement was fantastic and will only get better the more footy he plays, won't be surprised if his AFL days are realised eventually for this big unit and decent bloke. Good ruck combo developed last season with young Brookers and Daniel, plenty to look forward to already Very Happy

I think the club has recruited well yet again with Houlihan. Bollenhagen & McNamara ( Hope these 2 guys have signed) all who can go through the midfield.
To sign Bass is huge. We have 2 genuine ruckman which is great.
Casley not sure how tall he is. Does anyone no????

casley a chf /chb around 190cm.

Like what I'm seeing- heres hoping McNamara and Bollenhagen are on board as well. Both played afl last season and are coming home- well done lads-well done Ron and Neill.
Like others would like to see at least another tall in the mix as well to help if Brooksby or Bass are injured.
O'keefe and Jake Crate are virtually recruits after hardly firing a shot last year.
Looking good.

Keep an eye on the 2 Sacred Heart lads next year, De Visser and Bosley. Both have talent an under Ron's guide will evolve into excellent footballers. Cam De Visser is one strong solid unit who runs straight at the ball and if prepared for the work involved has great potential as does "the Bos", more realy good recruiting by the club.

From website:
South Adelaide Football Club welcomes the following players for the 2012 season –

Mitch Bosley, Sacred Heart Old Collegians – 183cm defender

Ben Casley, Greater Western Sydney – 192cm key forward

Cam De Visser, Sacred Heart Old Collegians – 190cm defender

Ben Dowdell, Adelaide Crows Rookie, 201cm ruckman

Tim Houlihan, West Coast Eagles – 189cm midfielder

Todd Pfeiffer, North Adelaide – 180cm midfielder

Tom Redden, Keith – 190cm defender

Xavier Watson, Port Adelaide Magpies – 178cm midfielder

As announced previously defender Tom McNamara has returned to the Club from Melbourne and ruckman Daniel Bass has signed after being delisted by the Port Power. Justin Bollenhagen who has returned from Fremantle is training with the Club and is also close to finalising an agreement.

The Club is hopeful of adding a few more players prior to the Christmas break. The final session for the year is on Wednesday December 21 at Hickinbotham Oval and pre-season starts again on Monday January 9. The Panthers first trial game will be on March 10 and Round 1 will be at Hickinbotham Oval on Saturday March 24.

Exiting South Adelaide are the following players with League experience –

Andrew Horne, Nathan Lyons, Mitch Sandery, Adam Cockshell, Brent Macleod, James Turner, Andrew Carter, Daniel Trevena, Steve Woods.

We thank them for their contribution to the Club and wish them all the best in their future

****

Anybody know where Macleod going? Shame about Carter also. Looked ok in 2010 before injury ruined 2011.

MacLeod always looked as though he was about to do something special but seemed to find it hard to maintain 4 quarters.
I thought that he was going to be our best recruit last year and I saw glimpses occasionally.

Was looking forwrd to a better year from him in 2012 - Oh well

Yeh, of all the surprises at the end of last season, this could possibly be the most surprising.
