SOUTH Adelaide midfielder Andrew Horne has advised the club he will return to Victoria next season.

He leaves after 42 games in two seasons which finished with the semi final loss to Woodville-West Torrens. A week earlier Horne, 23, was among the Panthers' best in their elimination final win over Glenelg.

Horne told the club of his decision on Monday.

His departure follows the loss of Nathan Lyons, Adam Cockshell and Mitch Sandery as announced by the club at its best-and-fariest last week.

''They're all losses,'' South Adelaide football manager Neill Sharpe said.

''But we're pretty confident we'll be able to replace them in coming weeks.

"'We've still got plenty of good players here and we'll add a few.''

Horne's departure means South Adelaide now has two vacant spots on its 'import' list of eight for next season.

In good news for the Panthers, Xavier Gotch and Reserves Magarey Medallist Tarak Redigolo have re-signed for next season.

They join Jake Veide, Nick Liddle, Guy O'Keefe, Peter Rolfe, Josh Thewlis and Keegan Brooksby who penned contract extensions during the season, and despite speculation he may head back to Victoria, club champion Joel Cross will honour his deal for next year.

Form this year not as good as his first but a more than useful player.
