Round 1 - South v West

Post by Choaty on Wed Mar 21, 2012 8:14 am

THANK GOD FOOTY IS BACK!!

Man that was a long summer (actually, did we have summer?!) Bloody excited for Saturday night - gonna be great to see my Blue and White's run out onto Hicky oval again after my prematch feed at JD's.
Looking forward to seeing the new recruits and hopefully a comfortable win over Westies to reclaim The Cupido Cup... been a long time since its sat on my mantle!!

ROLL CALL MOFOS???!!!

Sadly wont be able to get to this one (my cricket club presentation night is on). Don’t think I’ll be able to get to a game until Round 4 or 5 due to various reasons! Sad

Will be a good test first up. Of interest will be the AFL listed players and who lines up. McKernan v Rutten out of the goal square would be entertaining.

Yep...Im there flying solo.... Very Happy

Feels great footy is back.....weird feeling about this one. (Collins is under alot of pressure down Westies way this year - he said it today @ the opening of the SANFL launch)

We need to make our mark.
Also need a positive start to the season and hopefully a good crowd will come along.

See you all there!!

Noticed Tom McNamara in the ressies, anyone know why not in league side, apart from that not a bad looking side. Going in a bit small in defence but i like our centre line, forwards and rucks.

I reakon the team looks pretty good on paper and we aren't even at full strength. If we dominate the clearances our forwards should get the job done easily and we wont be exposed across half back. Trying to keep a lid on it but pretty pumped for this, great chance to go 1-0 and hit the ground running this year....GO YOU PANTHERS!!!

Pathetic, no excuses.(dont want to hear the injury one!!)

To play and come out like that in the 2nd half was woeful!!!

We looked disinterested after half time and played with no passion or desire.

Too kick 2 points after half time was a joke.

Big build up to this game for the first round by the club but ...what a HUGE letdown.

Sooooo disappointed . After a long and good pre-season , one would have expected a much better performance !!!! To be so far off the pace in the second half was at best bewildering. Maybe those fireworks could have been put to better use elsewhere !!!!!!!!!!!!! Having said that lets hope for a much much better effort next week . Ill be there ,trust Im not alone , that place is horible even when things are good . Heads up. Rolling Eyes

Couldn't get to this one, so would be interesting in hearing people's first impressions on a few of the new recruits?
Any positives at all to come out of the game?..seemed like the usual names were in the best players which is probably not a great sign (Liddle, Stribling, Cross etc).
Hopefully Wundke is back this week and we can break recent Prospect hoodoo.

one word.....FRUSTRATING

a prelim final seems so far off right now but they say a weeks a long time in football so 6 months is an eternity, hoping we can bounce back with a vegence this week but last time out at prospect we threw a game away we should have won as well, win lose or draw i just want to see them have a crack for 4 quarters!!
