Violent Incident in the crowd @ Prospect.

Post by Ben W on Mon Apr 02, 2012 5:45 pm

Its been alleged that a North Adelaide Supporter was king hit by a South Adelaide Supporter at the match on Saturday Afternoon at Prospect and knocked unconscious after some type of banter had been up and running in the crowd. My mail is that an ambulance was called and that the NAFC supporter was taken away to hospital as a result. This is gained from information circulating on the various football forums. The alleged SAFC supporter/s involved are reported to have run out of the ground.

Hopefully the South Adelaide Football Club will release a statement in conjunction with SAPOL via CrimeStoppers re this incident once the investigations have taken place.

If those involved responsible are reading this or those who know information about who participated in this incident, I suggest you contact the North Adelaide Football Club, the South Adelaide Football Club or SAPOL directly and pass on that information or face up yourself to what has happened. Rest assured someone knows who you are and you will eventually be caught, far better to hand yourself in and enter a plea than be arrested and be dealt with accordingly.

This behaviour does nothing for our club and it needs to stop before it goes any further. People have been killed at railway stations going to EPL matches in the UK or been hit with Apples with Razor Blades poked through them in the crowd because of what this type of thing has led to over the years of crowd segregation and so on. I don't want to see the SANFL end up in this fashion and rest assured it will if people don't stand up and do something about it now.

Do the decent thing and hand yourself in.

I was at the game. Near the BBQ area actually.
After the game I saw the ambo's come and attend to someone but had no idea this happened until I saw the footy forums after the match.
I was actually suprised to hear a South supporter (allegally) do such a thing as usually we are a pretty "plaid" bunch!!
If so that this happened, its not on!!! Hope the full arm of the law will catch up on you!!! Evil or Very Mad

what part of the ground did this incident take place Ben?. As P 74 said, the Ambulance made its way infront of the visitors race as the players were leaving the ground, I would have thought if it was serious the Ambulance would have left the ground via the carpark gates on the cricket club side.

not good for our club, Hope Bobby wasnt twittering about this incident.

I was at the game but did not witness the incident, apparently it occured directly in front of the grandstand.
I think in the best interests of all concerned it would be a good idea for the alleged offfender to come forward and for the matter to be cleared up asap. Im surprised the media have not jumped all over this but I guess its only a matter of time...We certainly do not wish our club to receive any adverse publicity over this.

Agree completely with blueandwhite. Could be a bad indictment on our footy club luckily it doesn't seem to have grown into a huge issue yet.
People should learn to go no further than words, but probably a few soft frees didn't help.
I didn't see the incident but on the way out, well after the game had finished, I saw a chap on a stretcher with paramedics at the ambulance afterwards and the police were gathering information.
I am a little confused by a contradiction of info on this incident on safooty by DOC who says he saw the bloke who was hit walk out afterwards.
Hope they catch the silly B... and ban him from our games.

Not sure about what went on beforehand, but was told the North supporter swung, missed, then the South supporter swung and hit, then ran off as he could see the guy hit his head on the concrete. Depressed fracture of the skull, according to the paramedics who told one of the trainers who stablised him.

The only good thing that came out of this incident was to see training staff and doctors from both teams rush to the guy's aid to stablise him and do what they could to assist until the ambo's arrived. Well done to both clubs.

Has anything come out of this incident or has it just been swept under the carpet or put in the two hard basket.

If it was at an AFL game between a SA side and a Vic side, the scribes would be all over it until someone was hung.
