The PA issue

Post by Panther74 on Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:01 pm

There seems to be a growing concern (especially with other visiting clubs) over the PA announcements after each goal South kick at night games.

Thought I would run a poll to get a general feel of what people on the forum actually think about it.

Although he gives me the irrits at times (hows that for a word) I kinda enjoy the way he tries to gather entheuisam amongst the Southies present.

Not for one second would I think he keeps Southies from being there and supporting the boys on and the more he gives the opposition supporters the sh!ts the more I like him.

We are the quietest supporters in the League wether it be at home or away so why shouldnt we all get behind him and cheer on the Blue and the White!!!! [highlight the missing word]

Leave those gimmicks for the slowly dying NBL.
If it brings more people through the gates then I'd say keep it going, but I don't reckon it does.
Our crowds still seem pretty low.
Of course its nothing 10 wins in a row wouldn't fix!

Don't mind it at the start of the game and beginning of each quarter is OK. However while the game is in progress this is definately no go territory, let the crowd talk and yell etc.

As Darley says, before and after the game, not to much of a problem, during the game is Cringeworthy IMO.

I agree with the idea of something different to energise the younger supporters but perhaps just at the breaks. It would be an improvement if he didn't sound like an idiot.

I have always thought it brings some much needed atmosphere to our games, but hearing that the opposition don't like it ..... I like it even more!
