I think our onfield leadership has been quite poor this season - it can't be left to young players like Tarak Redigolo to stand up every week. What has caused the drop away in leadership? Who is in the leadship group - obviously Nick Murphy and Brad Crabb, as captain and vice-captain) but who forms this core of the club on-field? Neither of the players above have had stellar seasons to date, with Nick Murphy having just 9 possessions on the weekend and Crabby currently in the reserves.

I have always thought the leadership group was 3 players....

Murphy, Crabb and Liddle.

Murphy has been not up to his best from last year.....injuries?? pressure of being a leader???

Crabb is definately out of favour with the selectors....average year.

Liddle is the only shinning light but he has been at South only a few years it should not be left to him to do the work. Others need to stand up and show something which they are not.....look at Ty Aleen for the Bays on the weekend...one guy changed the attitude of his teammates and was fearless....it caught on pretty quickly!!!

We seem to have this attitude on field that we are waiting others to do it and a "she'll will be right attitude!!" Rolling Eyes

I seem to recall us having a "Leadership Group" of 8, and some quick searching through safc.com confirms this:

During the night it was also announced that Nick Murphy would continue as Captain and Brad Crabb as Vice Captain. Josh Thewlis and Joel Cross will now join Nick Liddle, Xavier Gotch, Jacob Crate, Toby Stribling and Murphy and Crabb in the Club’s Leadership Group.

8 is way too many and a modern trend really.
