Selection wise, a little surprised Murph got the chop. See him as fairly versatile, and thought a shut-down role might have suited. I'd have him ahead of a few other blokes picked. Daniel not a huge surprise, struggled for most of 2012.

Good to see Curtis Perrey get another crack at league level. Have to admire his persistence.

Daniel deserved a stint in the seconds, don't know about murphy though.
There are a couple more that are lucky to have not got the chop!
Respond south!!!!!

Only 2 out from a side that looked very under motivated, Murphy is unlucky.
AFL players are an influence for a few sides in this comp but if our team attitude improved then we could put up a good show.
We have the talent but this is a season defining game for many reasons.

The thing with South is we need so much more improvement from our bottom 10 players. Every week it is the same players who get most of the ball. I know stats don't tell the full story (Redigolo often does a lock down job which is sacrificing his own game) but when someone like Liddle has a bad game he will still be in the top 6 possession winners.
We cannot continue to rely on Liddle, Cross & Wundke if we want to improve. We really need Miller, Mckay, Rolfe, Gotch even to an extent Stribling to take the next step. Agree with Daniel being sent down to the 2's he needs to lift. Murphy I thought was a tad unlucky however hopefully only 1 week to dominate in reserves and he will be back. Great to see Perrey get a crack really hope he takes his chance and can become a regular in the team. Also like the inclusion of Tarquin Brown from what I saw of him last year always gives a contest and never makes it too easy for his opponent. Would love to see Eddy tear a game apart. (We need it)

Sturt have a reasonable team in, but really, if we're serious about playing finals this year this game is a "must win" (hate that expression!)

If there is no lift in effort etc from last week, then we have some serious problems. It'll be 2007 all over again.

Here we go again....I said it rounds 1, 3 & now 4.
Time for the SAFC to make a statement on the field, no matter who the opposition.
I'll be heading to Unley & expecting nothing short of an honest, committed & accountable performance.
From all reports Ron has flogged them on the track...so the intensity must be there.
Pleased for Curtis coming into the side
Murph seems to have lost confidence since being relinquished of the captaincy; Love to see him crack back into the 1s with the form we know he is capable of......THIS HAS TO BE THE TURNING POINT OF OUR SEASON (Oh Please!)

South played very well as a team today, they backed each other up. We let them off in the last quarter though. It's still early days , but a very good win. Feels great..

Now the test is to back it up and improve! Not just about the result but how we play! Play how we know we can and the results will follow!

Much better effort and attitude; could see right from the first bounce we were there to play. Liked Brooksbys game today both he and Dowdell towelled up an alleged Afl ruckman and gave our small men first look most times.
Plenty of room for improvement though... and Rolfes injury didnt look good..bring on Friday night.

Better signs today. Although it was a messy game at times, the endevour was there all day and some of our foot skills were pretty decent. We played a very high possession game it seemed, seeking out the shorter option rather than blazing long all the time.

Liked the games of Snook, Cross, Redigolo, Gotch and Wundke. Thewlis was important in the first half as a lead up forward given Eddy was quiet. Most guys had a contribution at some stage during the match which was a positive.

Hopefully the Rolfe injury isn't too bad.

Relief! Am so pleased to get that 1st all important win under the belt.
Definite change in attitude, felt some of skills let us down early & somewhat hesitant (maybe lack of confidence)......3rd quarter showed us all what we are capable of.
Yes, saw Rolfe on crutches after the game, fingers crossed not too serious.
Assuming Wundke was rested last quarter?
Ah yes....the sweet taste of victory...gonna saviour this for the next 24-48 & then focus on the next game.

Well done Lads!

A wins a win.....better signs this week but still have a long way to go.

Eddy showed he can play today.

Gotch, Liddle, Cross, Miller all played well.

Thought our defense stood up when tested. Still a long way to go but great to get the points.

Not really sure where we are at yet....this Friday will tell that against North.

Still I good win at Unley on Poo Park Smile

Agree great win good attitude fantastic 3rd qtr, that has given everyone a boost of confidence.
A different style of possession type football in parts and skills looked good most of the time. Lots of good individual efforts particularly Cross Brooksby Snook Redigolo & hope Rolfe's injury is not too serious.
Let them back slightly towards the end so there is room for further improvement but we can build on this for our home games on bigger oval against a tougher opponent next week.
Overall a very good team effort and signs that new players are feeling more composed and fitting in to the structure well.
We have the talent and if we show that intensity and belief anything is possible, WELL DONE BOYS - Very Happy GO YOU PANTHERS

Great response from last week and great to get the WIN. Cross was fantastic also liked Snook, Hartigan & Gotch. Have been surprised by Mcdonald playing some good footy and Wundke brilliant. Happy we got the win now to win at home v the Cocks.

Would love to see Murph back in the seniors this week from reports he absolutely dominated in the ressies. Also hope Rolfey doesn't miss many games.

Come on Panthers 2 wins in a row to really get our season going!!!!!!!!
