Home Record

Post by Panther Pack on Tue Apr 30, 2013 4:15 pm

As we all know our home record is terrible. So I thought I would look into just how bad it is.

Since the beginning of the 2010 season South has played 33 home games for 7 wins.

Also during this time South has played 64 games (home and away) for 18 wins.

Not good....what's the fix?
Almost as though the playing group has never climatised to the conditions.
Or maybe the coaching staff's game plan is not conducive to the oval & conditions?
Or is it the remoteness of Noarlunga....ie. travel time for players....suffering jet lag before they even get to the ground....you would think though this would be the case also for the opposition.
One of the tragic mysteries in our Club's long history! And an ongoing burden for its loyal supporters.

Refresh my aging memory on how you do percentages.

That will paint a better picture.

Whats the Fix?

Pretty simple, we do not have enough players that are good enough for League standards.

We have lots of players that are only capable of being successful at reserves level.

We have lots of reserves players excluding the under 18's who have been promoted, who are not reserves level and should be still be playing grade footy in their local area.

A bit harsh but Simple facts.

If I/you/we/coaching staff could come up with a solution, the place would be full of geniuses.

We are all starved of success, all we can do is back those in charge and those who play.

Works out a 21% winning record at home and 28% winning Home and Away. (Since beginning of 2010 season)

2 wins from past 17 at home is even more grim.

Game plan for Noarlunga obviously needs some work.

Opposing teams that play well at Noarlunga use wing space to create area for setting up loose players then always play to that free player. We play a more contested style that works on smaller grounds. Think it is slowly changing , but need use centre dominance to set up plays better.
