WWT @ Woodville

Post by saintal on Fri Aug 09, 2013 10:47 am

So apparently there is a game of footy on tomorrow.

League
F: S. Taylor, Wundke, Shaw
HF: Liddle, Crabb, Thewlis
C: Beilby, Cross, Murphy
HB: Seccull, Veide, Giddings
B: Redigolo, Fields, N. Daniel

R: Brooksby, Gotch, C. Daniel
INT: Snook, Bass, McDonald, Kerin, AhChee
IN: Bass, S. Taylor

Surprised that Hartigan hasn't been named. Not in the Crows' 25. Presumably fit. Had a rest last weekend.
Certainly need him to give our good mate Ainger another touch up.

Scott Taylor deserves a run after being consistently in the best for the twos.

Interesting form from the Eagles these past few week, I do think we are a real chance this weekend!

Their form is a little erratic and ours is very erratic - if we are switched on we could win!!
Where is Hartigan?

Hartigan named back in the side replacing Kerin I think.

Kerin shows some dash but really needs to improve his kicking

Final
Eagles 18-5-113
South 6-9-45

Sadly another non-competitive performance, we've had too many of these this year.
Really let down particularly in the last quarter.
Have had enough this year! Sad

Just playing out time now. Very ordinary game. No atmosphere. Too many easy goals to the Eagles. Indirect, garbage football. 324 possies for 6 goals. 6 goals on the most perfect day for footy imaginable. Rolling Eyes  Hard to find any positives really.

I made a vow to myself that if ever we get a 10 goal thumping again this year then that would be it for me for this year.

The 20 goal loss to North was the last game I will be watching my team play this year. I did not go today, I could see it was going to happen.

My heart will always be with the Panthers, the Club has to start making decisions that will take it some where in the future.

I truly hope like hell there is improvement still this season, I wont be there to watch it.

I haven't bothered going for the past few weeks. The coach lost me after the Port smashing at Alberton. Does anyone know how many players are going to leave at the end of the season I've heard whispers could be a few.
If a player chooses not to re-sign with or club or the club lets him go what's to stop him playing for the Crows reserves?
Could Cross, Liddle and Wundke play for the Crows next year?
Will any of them still be at South?
When you are at a struggling club like South how do you beat full time professional footballers?

I can not see anything stopping a player from leaving say our club and playing for the Crows, except by being cleared and the clubs getting money for them. If they were to do that, it will not be a foot in the door to an AFL career. Nominating for the draft is the only way into the AFL now.

If I were Sharpe, [which I wouldnt want to be anyway] I would be having the check book hanging out of my back pocket every time Liddle, Cross and Wundke walked in the door at training, just so they could see he was serious about retaining them. Without them next year we are going to be in big trouble.

How many players we lose next year? The rumors were about 10, I would not take to much notice of that, every year the lists change, but if it is 10 players then I hope it is 10 dead heads who are never going to take us anywhere at all.

Anybody know why Murphy didn't play yesterday? Had a quick skim through the ressies team and he wasn't in there either. Injured presumably?

There were whispers of a senior player being dropped due to a social media issue!!!

Surely this is not why he didn't play!!!!!

I have an inner feeling that Murph is not a happy chappy with South ATM.

Could there be something in that feeling.

From facebook: Nick did not play on the weekend, he was suspended for one game for disciplinary reasons and we look forward to him being back in action for the Panthers this weekend.

Not great from any player, let alone a former skipper. At least the club was truthful about it

Jake did a very good job and stuck to it all day and didn't give up. I think that he had more disposals and certainly gave as good as he got.
