Eddy really needs to lift if he is to play key forward.

If you remember Ainger took a while to find his feet; Reckon he was shifted to defence before settling in at CHF......then defecting!

Still reckon we are a bit thin in defence & forward line.......I'm really hoping there will be announcement re: more recruits to the club......rival clubs seem to be very extremely active.

Do people think we have the squad to do some damage next year or do we need more recruits?

More recruits as I have said before. We need a couple of inside midfielders and a key forward. Boyd will play key position defence

Difficult this season to assess how the significant changes will affect all sides, however either Gotch and his staff have tried to get a key forward or they believe his team style of coaching is going to get better results with the players that we've got.
I also believe that Hourigan  McKay & C.Daniel will play big roles this year because of their experience.
I reckon we'll be competitive.

If there are any further signings we will know this week. As the club would be closed for the Xmas and New Year period.

You would think all recruits will be at the first training after the New Year

There could be some good news at tomorrow night's AGM.

I would think the coach will be there to give an insight to the 2014 season.

AGM indicated some significant announcements before Xmas - awaiting signatures. Boy was Brad Gotch inspirational! He has a DN Kerley charisma about him! Exciting stuff!!

That's not so positive. Some awful home crowd figures wouldn't have helped the cause.

A $143k loss!!!???Maybe that's why we haven't recruited. Interested in how our bankers to whom we owe a mere $3.0ml feel about this, so much for being the financially strong club, surely not going back to the dark dark days?

We have lost only one significant player (Wundke) from 2013 player list. Logically our salary cap will be close to the limit. Expect new player signing soon. In relation to the $143k loss - much was "capital depreciation" - not "real" money.

Depreciation being a non-cash expense on assets has been accounted for in previous profitable years, so what happened this year? Did we accelerate depreciation or made purchases throughout the year therefore asset values should have increased, or did the payout owed to former coach impact on profit?

Im no accountant...but maybe in "accountant speak"- Depreciation may also mean a one off payment/settlement to a former employee... Rolling Eyes

Am I the only 1 who feels like we are missing the boat regarding recruiting? We finished 8th last season and although I think the game plan had a fair bit to do with it I at least expected a few more recruits especially key position?

Have noticed quite a few other clubs have been very active!

Think we badly need a key forward and I see Glenelg as picked up Mitch Thorpe who is probably one of the best forwards outside the AFL

Hope we hear something tomorro

Yeah agree .... Thought we would be recruiting more key position players . Seems other clubs have been a lot more active than us in that department.

Maybe some positive news tomorrow ??
