Geez I hope so. Was the rising star for the NEAFL in a side that finished bottom.

From what I understand:

Beard is at least talking with Sturt. (Hope not)

Wundke may have an offer from the Eagles. (Hope not even more).

Matthew Rose from Port has signed and has advised Port.

Too true. We have been burnt too often in broadcasting our intentions.

McLeod had a very promising time at the club but for whatever reason left or was moved on! Would have him back for sure! Horne is a gun!

I really hope we don't lose Wundke and especially to the Eagles! So over seeing our good players leaving us.

Hope the club can find a solid CHB.

from what i understand, Beard, Kirkwood and one other Port escapee will be going to the Eagles.....
Wouldnt think they can afford Wundke after paying 50k for Ainger last year as well???...

Murphy re-signed last week, according to the club's facebook post.

So are we likely to sign any ex Magpies players?

Also what is the situation with Wundke surely it is not over coin? Would have thought he is 1 of our better payed players.

A forward line without him would be scary!!!!

Wasn't it posted here that Michael Wundke is overseas? Also I thought McLeod had returned home mainly because he was homesick, he was only 18 so it seemed fair.
It would be great to get Andrew Horne or him or both back again. Lyons as well, perhaps!
I feel Beard is the one we need, but rumours only serve to tease.
We can speculate as much as we like but when they've signed on we will know.
Bring it on.Smile

Hopefully with a new coach of good pedigree players will want to wear the south guernsey. We do need a few good recruits. Maybe like most years there won't be too much signed up until after the draft and rookie drafts.

Will the new coach invite all listed players from last year to train even some of the young ones that left?

Maddog1, Would you keep all the players that took us to 8th position in 2013 or would you be moving those on that do not measure up, or can we blame that solely on the past coach.

If I were the coach I would be retaining these players, Brooksby, Bass, Cailotto, Cross, Daniel N, Eddy, Fields, Gotch, Liddle, Murphy, Redigolo, Rolfe, Wundke as my first priority, the rest could stay and take their chances of making the League or playing in the Seconds.

The club will sign players from other football clubs to strengthen our league team in the quest for a premiership in 2014 or 2015.

This may sound a bit harsh on some players, the reality is stay the same, remain the same.

You are all welcome to shoot me down at any time, just name your top 12 players we should keep to take us forward.

plenty to be thinned out. Bit sad you have only named 2 locals in your best 12, considering around 30 locals played in our seniors and reserves last year - sad indication on strength of our zone?

Prowler your list looks solid the only player that springs to mind would be Caleb Daniel thought he played some exceptional games this year.
Also Thewlis has re-signed with the club personally thought he played his best footy in the backline but Fuller tried him as a forward this year. Will be interesting to see where Gotch plays him next season.

Not sure if the club has announced when pre season starts, but it's generally first or second week of Nov. you would think we'd have a Wundke answer by then. I spoke to a player a month ago and he told me that he expected him to play on.
