Panthers v Glenelg, Good Friday

Post by blueandwhite on Sun Apr 13, 2014 9:31 pm

Like all Southies looking forward to belting the absolute crap out of the Bays.
They arent travelling that well, but do play Hickinbotham Oval pretty well. Wouldnt it be nice to finish off the bays season at this early stage of the year?
Could this be their ...".....Last Supper..? .. "Rolling Eyes
Cant make it Im afraid, but will be viewing on Ch7, hope the change to an earlier time slot wont effect the crowd too much. A game on national TV is a great advertisement for our club so lets hope we can put on a good show...and smash the daylights out of the hapless tigers...
heard a whisper that one P. Rolfe maybe having a kick in the 2's. Very Happy

Go Panthers!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Yep, match time changed to suit the TV broadcast. Does this now count as a twilight game?

"Beware the wounded beast"    The Bays got a real belting on Saturday and if there is one thing that I have learnt about football over the years,  especially this early in the season and that is, that a side that has been given a bloody good hiding will either bounce back big time and be very hard to beat OR  they will suffer the same sought of humiliating defeat. Previous Bay sides have played Noarlunga well and  if they have any sort a footy pride at all they will be out to prove a point this Friday (even if it's just for the television cameras). That being said, I still think we can beat them and beat them well.

Hate to say but a big danger game for us.....

As long as the side sticks to the game plan and goes not get over confident we should get the points.

Just wish it was played at the Bay!!! (we play well there)

Time for the club to make a stand and show the TV audience the NEW South Adelaide!!!!

Love the Good Friday Blockbuster against our arch rivals Glenelg would love to see a huge crowd of 6000 plus.

Really want to get our 3rd win in a row and destroy the bays at the same time!!!

Is it a sin to go to the footy on Good Friday?

Especially with a 3.00pm start.

I am going against the grain, i still can't believe we have improved so much, i am reluctantly tipping Glenelg and hope i have never been so wrong. Not too happy about the 3.10pm start and under usual circumstances i would stay away, this however is unusual circumstances and i want to see the "new" South Adelaide with my own eyes, TV won't do.

Darls!!!!! youve disappointed me!!! - we have improved - a lot! Ye of little faith!!! Shocked
Counting the trials Ive seen us play 5 games so far, I think we've progressively improved in each game and I think we can improve even more.

Not happy myself re the 3.10 start; pretty sure the club wouldnt be all that thrilled either, its obviously been changed to suit the whims of CH7 but the time change certainly wont help attendances .

Yes good luck to Rolfey!
Love to see him fight his way back into the league & add some more venom up forward;  It’d look a potent forward line with Peter’s explosive skills in the forward pocket.
As for Good Friday, I am venturing to Noarlunga with no inhibitions, I have seen evidence to suggest we are a different side from previous years & understandably go in against the bays as favourites, however we are vulnerable, history has shown us this.
Am sure Gotcha will leave no stone unturned with the playing group, make sure we keep doing the things we have done in the first 2 rounds.
Get out there Panther Fans!

Agree, good luck to Peter Rolfe - it will be great to see him back.
Funny feeling - confident while remembering our history shows that we have let ourselves down in past similar situations HOWEVER perhaps this time we have something special..
Some good signs - keep working hard. Go Panthers

Thought crowd was pretty poor well down on past years? Fair bit of time and money going into marketing without results is not good for dire financial position we are currently in.

South 17-14-116 d Glenelg 10-11-71

Another good win considering early injuries; Our class shone through when it mattered.
Reckon the time slot & live television broadcast did not help crowd numbers.

Hopefully with the team continuing to win games the crowds will come.

Real test next week against the dogs at the pondarossa; Reckon we're the real deal if we can roll them!

Go Panthers!

A great day for The South Adelaide Football Club.. Yep the crowd was down. But Team played well . I thought the second quarter was pretty average, but the second half was much better. Lets hope that Tarak's knee is not too bad. Rolfie looked good in the reserves.  All in all a good day in Southland.
Go you Panthers. Now lets go get those doggies.
