2 conflicting sources, hope an announcement comes out sooner rather than later; I would be severely pissed if we lose another player to that stinkin composite team!

The wait is killin me!

Can GUARANTEE / confirm that if Brett Edddy is not drafted, he will be playing for the SAFC. He signed acontract with us a few weeks ago.

This is from a very, very good source.

Good to hear we may still have him! Regardless of if he gets drafted if they were to pinch him I would've just about given up!

Garry Hocking has mentioned to a mutual friend that Brooksby will be at the Magpies next season. Looks as though he's in line for a power rookie spot.

The South Adelaide Football Club advises that the following players will not be continuing in 2015 –

Frazer Dale, recruited from Carlton, 20 games, 8 goals

Todd McKay, Port Noarlunga, 33 games, 8 goals

John McDonald, recruited from Sturt, 18 games, 7 goals (23 games previously with Sturt)

Cam De Visser, recruited from Sacred Heart OCFC, 9 games, 6 goals

South Adelaide General Manager – Football Neill Sharpe said it’s always disappointing when players decide to move on.

“SANFL football is a serious competition and requires a genuine commitment and a real passion to play at the level. We’re disappointed that Todd McKay and Frazer Dale have decided to move on as we think their best football is ahead of them. Unfortunately the demands of the competition aren’t for everyone.

“John McDonald and Cam De Visser have had some injury issues in recent seasons and are at stages in their working life where they feel they need to concentrate on their careers.

“We thank Frazer, Todd, John and Cam for their contribution to South Adelaide and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Fraser Dale leaving......that hurts!!! Sad

Very underrated player who would be one of my best from this year.

Piss weak leaving after one season but that's just my opinion.

Disappointing but not entirely surprising given the committment required to play at SANFL level these days.Im pretty disappointed with Dale,he certainly played some good footy with us last year, an absolutely elite kick I thought;however his performance in the Prelim final v Port was particuarly poor, along with 3-4 others.

Personally Im more or less resigned to the fact that we will lose Daniel and Eddy in the draft.
I think that with a bit of improvement from a few players and getting Boyd fit and firing we may be able to cover those two losses.
However if ,as some are suggesting, we lose Brooksby.....to the rookie draft..?.. he WILL take some replacing.

Not underrated by me. He played some excellent games this year and is no more guilty of dropping the ball in the prelim than 20 others.

As for leaving after one season, has anyone heard his reasons. Going to another SANFL club would be the pits. Going interstate for work , education or family is understandable but still disappointing.

Rated Dale highly. Dependable by foot and very good overhead. Will be missed. The C7 commentators found it impossible to call him without using his christian name which was odd.

Both Mackay and Hourigan were highly touted as juniors and were on the radar of AFL clubs. Both now find themselves outside the SANFL.

McDonald and De Visser probably come as no surprise.

Frazier Dale and Tod Makay are a bit of a blow but if they don't want to commit then we find those that will! I heard Makay was leaving a while ago, and would've loved the opportunity to have a word with him as he definitely has his best footy ahead of him! He's playing in the country somewhere I believe? A couple of years ago he was best afield in a state under 18s game! Along with Hourigan if they both had the determination and drive like Caleb Daniel they could at the very least be very good SANFL players! Hopefully they both return in the future!
Frazer had a very good season but to me wasn't a hard ball winner and seemed a bit laconic at times. He can be replaced in my opinion. Eddy and Daniel will be very hard to replace and if we lose Brooksby then we will have to delve deep to cover him.
