South 13.8
North 2.9

Goal Kickers: E. Irra 3, J. Cross 3, A. Gulden 2, B. Macleod 2, M. Rankine , N. Liddle , B. Eddy
Best Players: , J. Cross , J. Veide , E. Irra , N. Daniel , N. Liddle , M. Rankine

A case of all played well and a handy % and confidence booster against a very ordinary side.

The ressies also got up by 5 goals or so.

A good even team effort today helped to push North securely to the bottom of the ladder.

Irra had to gain a lot of self confidence from today's game, he covered a lot of ground, being rewarded with 3 goals, Cross showed he is all class, Veide was damaging all day, Gulden was strong up forward, Daniel and Crabb combined to stifle North at every opportunity, Bass put in a solid performance in ruck, he is also getting better around the ground with 2 steadying marks in defence when needed, McLeod and Gotch were able to find space to do damage to North, in fact it was certainly a case where all could be mentioned.

North are at their lowest in many years, it was pleasing to see us be ruthless towards them today as they have shown us no mercy when we were at our lowest.

We owe a lot of teams over the years, lets hope this is payback for many years to come.

15 touches and 2 goals in the final term from Irra, certainly made the most of North's run and pressure completely dropping off. Thought his disposal by foot was a lot cleaner than usual.

As prowler commented it was good to make a cold, wet afternoon even bleaker for opposition supporters for a change. We've been on the receiving end too many times to count.

Very pleasing win in shocking conditions - Crossy sensational, Veide ran around seemingly without an opponent for three terms, Macleod, Rose and Schwarz all great efforts along with Irra's best game for the club.

But we have a fairly tough run home with Centrals barking at the gate.

Some pretty damning stats from the game...
D50 Direct Turnover Kicks - South 1, North 5
I50 Effective Disposals - South 39, North 4

Which is great, but probably shows more at how insipid North are and obviously how much better we'll need to get as the season goes along as we won't be gifted defensive efforts like that from the better sides.

Even still, great to smash a team for once. North can probably thank the weather from preventing a 100+ flogging.

Need to beat the likes of Eagles, Norwood, West, Port to be a serious finals contender and not just a pretender making up numbers.

Centrals a big worry as they have a pretty easy run home.

Love to finish 3rd for the second chance in finals. Is very possible if things fall our way.
