First trial v Sturt

SOUTH
Dual Magarey Medallist Joel Cross will miss South Adelaide’s opening trial match against Sturt at Hickinbotham Oval on Saturday.
Having undergone surgery to remove floating bone from his big toe, Cross is likely to make his first appearance in the Panthers’ next practice hit-out against Adelaide on Saturday March 12.
The Panthers are also taking a cautious approach with IGA League regulars Nick Liddle, Tom Fields, Brad Crabb and Daniel Bass while former Power forward Cameron Hitchcock will also be rested.
Former Glenelg forward Josh Trembath has been named in the League line-up along with ex-West Adelaide running machine Richard Newell.
Wingman Adam Gulden is still a fortnight from returning from a hip ailment while goalsneak Peter Rolfe is scheduled to return mid-season after undergoing another major knee operation.

League
Eddy, Seccull, Rose, Daniel, Haren, Irra, Redigolo, Gotch, De Visser, Barnes, Heaslip, Rankine, Newell, Schwarz, P. Kerin, S. Taylor, Brown, Moyle, Cailotto, Nichols, Ellison, McMahon, Trembath, Veide.

Reserves
Gillett, Haines, Darrou, Durdin, Steffe, Giddings, Kappler, Bartram, Anderson, Jolly, Gurney, T. Kerin, Wray, Fairlie, Kokkinakis, O’Shaughnessy, Need, Szust, Dominish, Blackwell, Drew, Albanese, Harvey, Evans, Brooks, Vizzari, Allevi, Stoyel, Millman.

**Will be interested in seeing how Trembath goes (didn't realise we'd picked him up). Recall he kicked 4 or 5 against us a few years back playing second fiddle to Kirkby and looked a likely type. Although he's done nothing since, could be handy foil for Eddy. Or he might struggle to get a kick in the twos all winter.
