South Adelaide ruckman Daniel Bass has called time on his SANFL career.

Bass' retirement comes after 101 games and 32 goals in the famous blue and white.

The big ruckman affectionately known as 'Bassy' debuted for the Panthers in 2010 after being allocated to the Club via the SANFL Mini Draft following his Rookie Listing by Port Adelaide.

An imposing presence around the stoppages, the former basketball notched his 100th appearance for the Panthers in 2017 and will be fondly remembered by South supporters for his last second heroics in kicking the winning goal against the Adelaide Crows SANFL team in 2016.

The Club thanks Daniel for his sterling service over the past eight years and wishes him and partner Sophie well in the next chapter of their life.

Panthers fan favourite Jake Veide has announced his retirement from SANFL football.

A cult figure in Noarlunga, the man affectionately dubbed 'The Robot' calls time on his South Adelaide career after a hard-fought 114 games.

Jake made his League debut in 2009 against the Gowan brothers-led Bulldogs under Clay Sampson and soon established himself as a valuable cog in the Panthers engine room.

A hard-running, physical presence around the ground, Jake flourished under the tutelage of Brad Gotch, claiming the 2014 Most Improved Player award and in 2016 made his long-awaited 100th appearance in blue and white after overcoming surgeries on his hip, shoulder, knee and twice on a broken leg through the first eight years of his career.

A much loved personality around the Club, Jake will be remembered as much for his play on the field as his iconic shaved head and number 62 guernsey.

Also leaving Hickinbotham Oval are defensive duo Luke Durdin and Jordan Taylor.

An Air Conditioning Mechanic by trade, Luke has advised the Club that increased work commitments will prevent him from maintaining the level of commitment needed for SANFL football.

The reliable defender enjoyed a consistent 2017 season, playing all 18 games, finishing fourth in Knuckey Cup voting and claiming the 2017 Knuckles Award.

Durdin played 43 games for the Panthers after making the jump from Port Adelaide Magpies in 2014.

Meanwhile, Jordan will be returning to New South Wales after making his League debut this season and playing six SANFL Macca's League matches.

South Adelaide thanks Jake, Luke and Jordan for they commitment and contribution to the Club and wishes him well in their future plans, both on and off the field.

Well that now makes 7 senior player gone from the club in 2017.

Any new name appearing on the radar to replace them, now that our coach has been named.

From what i'am hearing Brett Eddy not returning, possibly Sturt or more likely back to Victoria, let's hope for the later it broke our collective hearts to see him playing for that other mob particularly against us.
