Who were responsible

Post by the prowler on Sun Apr 17, 2011 2:02 pm

Who were the people responsible for James Boyd leaving the club and going off to play against us 2 seasons ago.

Were they doing it for the betterment of the team or something to justify their own positions

No club just discards a good player, when the club is struggling on field for a winning formula

Who is going to put their hands up and tell the real reason?

I heard one reason, but of course I heard it from 'others' so it cant be verified by myself.

Someone out there must know the truth.

The reasons I heard at the time were:
Wanted to play finals & his brother was delisted.

No idea how correct they are, and I'm pretty sure any efforts we made to retain him would have been a waste of time. I don't think we can point the bone at anyone over this.

In fact going down that track is counter productive, and no help to anyone.

taken from messenger article ...

As for the reason for his departure from South, Boyd said there were no hard feelings but admitted he would have stayed on at the club had Clay Sampson not been sacked as coach at the end of last season.

``I went in for a meeting at the end of the year with Clay and told him I was happy and wanted to keep playing here (South).

Maybe he should have gone to Myponga with Sampson - they seem to have gone from strength to strength!

Why worry about who is responsible, if we had kept players like
scott mcglone
craig parry
rhys archard
james boyd
david clarke
where would be.
but we need players willing to play for the club andguernsey not for themselves. we needed a new direction and i believe we are on the right path. lets not worry about what might have been lets woory about what will be if after 5 years(the plan) we haven't achieved anything well then we can complain but give the current PLAN a chance and see what happens
GO YOU Panthers.
i for 1 am excited and have gone to more football games in the last 2 years than in the previous 20.
